Stopping a Timer

Tip
Method 3: Start a Different Topic
When you start a new topic, the current timer stops automatically.
- 1Click a different topic in Quick Start, or use Alt+1-9
- 2The current entry is saved automatically
- 3The new timer starts immediately
This is the fastest way to switch between tasks without explicitly stopping. Your time is always tracked — no gaps between entries.
Adding Notes When Stopping
You can add notes before or after stopping the timer.
Before Stopping
Type your notes in the notes field while the timer is running. They save automatically as you type. When you stop, everything is already saved.
After Stopping
Click the entry in "Today's Entries" or on the Calendar to open the edit dialog. Add or modify notes, then close. Changes save automatically.
Discarding an Entry
Sometimes you start a timer by accident or change your mind. You can discard the entry instead of saving it.
- 1Click the ⋮ menu on the timer display
- 2Select Discard
- 3Confirm the discard in the dialog
