How founding-member lifetime pricing works
Lifetime access is sold as a founding-member offer, released in waves. The price rises with each wave — so the earlier you join, the less you pay.
Each wave is priced higher than the one before it. The price only ever rises, never drops, so the earlier you join the less you pay. When a wave sells out, the next wave opens at its higher price.
The current wave's price and the next wave's are shown live on the pricing page, so the figure is always current.

Limit Details
History Retention (Free Plan)
On the Free plan, time entries older than 30 days are archived. You can export them before archival. Upgrading to Pro restores access to all historical data.
Category and Topic Limits
Free accounts can create up to 3 categories and 10 topics total. Archived or deleted items don't count toward the limit. The Pro plan has no limits.
Client Limits
Free accounts can have up to 3 active clients. The Pro plan allows unlimited clients for comprehensive client management.
Billing entities are free for everyone
Billing entities are not a plan limit — Free and Pro can both create as many as they need to separate work, clients, and invoicing. Collaboration is what's monetized (per seat), never how you organize your own billing identities. As an anti-abuse safeguard, accounts are capped at 25 billing entities, and that ceiling is identical on Free and Pro.
AI Agents (MCP)
Connect AI assistants over MCP to track time automatically. Free includes 1 AI agent — enough to experience hands-free tracking. Pro raises the limit to 5 agents so you can wire up a whole toolchain.
Profitability & cost tracking
Entering your rates and cost of living is free on every plan. On Free you see the current-period profitability summary — the headline profit number. Pro unlocks the full breakdown: per-client and per-category margins, history and trends over time, and per-invoice margin.
Slack/Mattermost Integration Limits
Free accounts can configure 1 integration, and the Pro plan allows up to 25. Use webhooks to send timer events (start, stop, checklist updates) to your team's chat channels.
Feature Badges in the UI
Features that require a higher plan are marked with badges throughout the app:
Pro Badge
Appears on features requiring Pro subscription: invoice creation, recurring entries, time goals, and PDF exports.
Limit Badge
Appears when you've reached a usage limit (clients, billing entities, or exports). Click the button to see upgrade options.
Tip
What Happens When You Hit a Limit
Category limit reached
You'll be prompted to upgrade when trying to create a new category. Existing categories continue to work normally.
Topic limit reached
New topic creation is disabled until you upgrade or delete existing topics. All tracking features continue working.
History retention
Entries older than 30 days become read-only. You can view and export them, but not edit. Timer and new entries work normally.
Client limit reached
You can't add new clients, but existing client assignments and billing features work normally.
Integration limit reached
You can't add new Slack/Mattermost webhooks, but existing integrations continue sending notifications.
Note
Upgrading
Ready to upgrade? Here's what happens:
- Instant activation — Pro features unlock immediately after payment
- History restored — All archived entries become fully accessible again
- Limits removed — Create unlimited categories, topics, and clients
- No data migration — Everything is already there, just unlocked
Tip
Seats & Collaboration
Collaboration is a Pro feature. The billing entity owner is always free — every additional collaborator uses one seat.
Pro is required to collaborate
Inviting members needs an active Pro subscription. On Free you work solo; upgrade to Pro to add your first collaborator.
Seats are a Pro add-on
Buy seats under Settings → Billing & plan → Subscription & seats: $8 per seat per month (or $80 per year). The owner never uses a seat — you only pay for the people you add.
Add or remove seats anytime
Adding a seat is charged immediately, prorated for the rest of the period. Removing seats is scheduled for the end of the billing period, and no member is ever removed for you.
Admin-granted free seats
An admin can grant you free seats as a permanent floor. They are never billed and your total can't drop below them — buy more on top whenever you need.
Lifetime Pro can buy seats too
Lifetime Pro users add seats through a separate recurring subscription, billed at the standard seat price.
