Customize notifications, gamification, and display settings.

Overview

Preferences let you customize how TeeckIn works for you. Configure which notifications you receive, which topics appear in Quick Start, and how time and dates are displayed.

Notification Settings

Control which emails and in-app notifications you receive:

Timer Reminders

Get notified if a timer runs longer than your configured threshold

Daily Summary

Receive a daily email summarizing your tracked time

Weekly Reports

Get weekly analytics delivered to your inbox

Goal Progress

Notifications when you reach time goals or streaks

Team Activity

Updates when team members in your organization track time

Billing Alerts

Subscription renewals, payment issues, and invoice reminders

Note

Billing alerts cannot be disabled for account owners. These notifications ensure you're aware of important subscription changes.

Configuring Notifications

Timezone

TeeckIn detects your timezone from your browser automatically and stores it on your profile. You can override it under Billing → Settings → Business → Regional.

Your timezone wins for everything you see live — calendar grid, dashboards, streaks, daily goals, "today" totals, accomplishments. This holds even when you're working inside an organization with a different company timezone.

Shared artifacts use the organization timezone — PDF exports, public share-links, and notifications posted to a team Slack or Mattermost channel render dates in the org's timezone so every reader sees the same numbers. Invoices and other client-bound emails can additionally set a per-client timezone for real-instant fields.

Theme Settings

TeeckIn uses a dark theme by default. Theme options:

Dark

Deep space theme. Easy on the eyes, ideal for long sessions.

Light

Bright theme for well-lit environments.

System

Automatically matches your OS dark/light mode setting.

Timer Preferences

Configure how the timer behaves:

Forgotten Timer Alert

Show a notification if timer runs longer than this (e.g., 4 hours)

Auto-stop at Midnight

Automatically stop running timers at midnight and start a new entry

Round to Nearest

Round time entries to the nearest minute interval (1, 5, 15 minutes)

Default Note Template

Pre-fill new entries with a template (e.g., checklist format)

Keyboard Shortcuts

Customize keyboard shortcuts in the Preferences section. You can rebind most shortcuts to different keys.

    Click on any shortcut to change its key binding

    Press the new key combination

    Click Save

Note

Some shortcuts (like browser defaults) cannot be overridden. If a shortcut doesn't work, try a different key combination.

Resetting Preferences

To reset all preferences to their defaults:

    Open Account Settings

    Go to Preferences

    Scroll to the bottom
  4. 4
    Click Reset to Defaults
  5. 5
    Confirm the reset

This resets display settings, notifications, and shortcuts but does not affect your Quick Start pins.
