Learn your way around the sidebar, header, and main pages in TeeckIn.

Overview

TeeckIn has a consistent layout across all pages: a sidebar for navigation, a header showing your active timer, and a main content area. This guide introduces each part of the interface.

The Sidebar

The sidebar on the left provides quick access to every page. Timer, Calendar, and Dashboard sit at the top as single rows. Activity and Billing are expandable groups — click a group to open it and jump to its first page. Settings opens an overlay. On mobile, tap the menu icon to open the sidebar.

Timer

Your home base. Shows the Quick Start panel, active timer, and recent entries.

Calendar

G C

Weekly view of all time entries. Drag to move entries, resize to adjust duration.

Dashboard

G D

Analytics overview with hours worked, earnings, and category breakdowns.

Activity

G W

An expandable group with two views over your tasks: Tasks (manage every work item in list, table, kanban, or timeline) and Accomplishments (a summary of completed work, great for standups and reports).

Billing

G B

An expandable group: Invoices, Quotes, Retainers, Transactions, and Reports — everything for billing from your tracked time.

Transactions

G X

Track income and expenses beyond billable hours. Lives under the Billing group.

Reports

G R

Detailed breakdowns by category, topic, tag, or date range. Lives under the Billing group.

Settings

G S

Opens the settings overlay — manage topics, clients, billing details, agents, integrations, and data from one place.

The Header

The header appears at the top of every page and shows important information at a glance.

Active Timer

When a timer is running, the header shows the topic name, elapsed time, and a stop button. Click anywhere on the timer to go to the Timer page with full controls.

Billing entity Switcher

If you have multiple billing entities, click your billing entity name in the sidebar to switch between them. Each billing entity has its own categories, topics, and data.

Gamification Stats

Your level, XP progress, and streak appear in the header. Click to see achievements and detailed stats.

Use these keyboard shortcuts to navigate without touching the mouse:

Tip

The "G" shortcuts are two-key sequences: press G, release, then press the second key. This is called a "chord" shortcut.

The Timer Page

The Timer page is where you'll spend most of your time. It has three main areas:

Quick Start Panel

Shows your recent and pinned topics. Click any topic to start a timer instantly. Use Alt+1 through Alt+9 for keyboard shortcuts.

Timer Display

Shows the elapsed time, current topic, and controls. Click the time to edit the start time. Toggle between notes and checklist mode using the button.

Today's Entries

A list of time entries for today. Click any entry to edit it. See your daily total at the bottom.

Mobile Experience

TeeckIn works great on mobile devices:

Sidebar — Tap the menu icon (☰) to open the sidebar
Timer — Large touch targets for starting and stopping timers
Swipe gestures — Swipe on entries to reveal quick actions
Offline mode — View cached data when you're offline

Tip

Install TeeckIn as an app on your phone for the best experience. You'll be prompted when visiting the site, or look for "Add to Home Screen" in your browser menu.
